The gatherings are always fun and informative due to the various personalities of the attendees and the diversity of topics discussed. I have gained friends, sources, referrals and knowledge at each and every meeting. I applaud Alans leadership in doing away with meeting formalities and agendas (the usual "meeting" bureaucracy) and keeping things social, fun and lively. I have never liked having my work critiqued by strangers, as is the norm on many photo websites. The Desert LIght Photo Group has a diverse talent base - a good mix of professional and amatuer photographers, artists, business people, hobbyists and people who just love photography that want to improve their skills. Our membership comes from all walks of life. In order to maintain the synergy and connection of a small group, we limit our pariticipation to 40 members.
